Chrissy and Mindy Chow won the USA Wrestling National Championships for Junior Women's freestyle in Fargo, North Dakota on July 23rd and 24th. Chrissy and Mindy were crowned co-champions in the 124lb weight class.
Chrissy won her side of pool going 5-0 with 5 pins. Mindy won her side of the pool going 5-0 with 3 pins. Per USA Wrestling tournament rules, if siblings reach the finals they are awarded co-champions. Congratulations Girls!

Chaeden Grace Reyes competed in the Greco and Freestyle Cadet division but did not place.

Daniel Chow won 8th place in the 2008 USA Wrestling Junior Freestyle National Championships in Fargo North Dakota. Daniel competed in the 145 lbs Junior divsion and went 6-3 placing 8th. There were 82 competitors in the division.

Tani Ader and Daniel Chow were inducted into the HHSAA Hall of Honor for their High School accomplisments in Wrestling & Judo.

Taylor Ibera and Mindy Swanson travelled to Miami to compete in the 2008 Pan Am Championships.
Taylor won the gold in 44 kgs. She was one of the only two gold medals USA won at the championships.
Mindy placed fifth in the individual competition and was also on the USA team that won the silver.

Six Hawaii Tenri judoka competed in the Senior Nationals this year. Arnold Toriumi, Daniel Chow,
Melinda Swanson, Taylor Ibera, Chrissy Chow, and Mindy Chow.
Taylor Ibera won the gold in 44kgs. repeating as Senior National champion in that division.
Melinda Swanson won the bronze in both the Open and the +78 Division.
Chrissy and Mindy Chow both took bronze medals in the 52 kgs. division.
DanielChow placed fifth in the Men's 66 kgs. division after losing his bronze medal match.
ArnoldToriumi went 1-2 in the Men's -60 kgs division.
Also as a result of their finishing places in the Senior Nationals both Melinda Swanson and Taylor Ibera
were invited to be on the USA team for the 2008 Pan Am Championships May 8-9th in Miami, Florida.
Both Mindy Swanson and Taylor Ibera are the number one ranked player in the country. Mindy in the Open division
and Taylor in the -44kgs division.
Also four of our players have been invited to the USA Judo Olympic trials in June in Las Vegas.
Melinda Swanson, Chrissy Chow, Mindy Chow and Daniel Chow have all qualified for the trials .
The top eight point players in each division will compete in the trials in June.
